Ștefan Neaga
Raised in a lăutar family, trained in Chișinău, Bucharest, and Paris, Ștefan composed symphonies, concert works, cantatas, songs, piano and chamber music; conducted, taught, collected folklore, and helped build postwar musical institutions.
