Works / Catalog

Two composers, a much wider body of work

The catalog now gathers every distinct composition, arrangement, project, and source-specific work identity found across the supplied books. It covers symphony, concerto, opera, oratorio, cantata, film, voice, piano, chamber music, teaching repertory, and uncertain or unlocated works.

This is a reconciled finding catalog, not yet a definitive thematic catalog. Generic titles and conflicting instrumentation remain separate until manuscripts, title pages, or musical incipits can establish identity.

What is included

Completed compositions, arrangements made by the composer, named cycles and versions, unrealized projects, and source-distinguished fragments or holdings. Later editions and recordings are used as evidence but are not automatically treated as new compositions.

How dates work

Composition, revision, premiere, publication, and recording are different events. A publication year is not silently converted into a composition year. Ranges and approximate dates stay approximate.

How uncertainty works

Verified means a stable source record. Qualified means the work exists but a date, forces, or identity remains limited. Disputed means incompatible source claims require artifact-level review.

Books 1 and 3

Sofronov's narrative and closing work list are reconciled with Gordiychuk's 1976 chronology, editions, repository codes, recordings, and title index. Lost, destroyed, and merely unlocated works are not treated as the same status.

Books 4 and Chiciuc

The National Library biobibliography supplies full-career chronology, scores, editions, discography, and Teleradio holdings. Chiciuc adds detailed chamber chronology, manuscript evidence, and post-2001 Dallas works.
