Lucia Neaga was born into a family with strong musical traditions. Her parental grandfather, Stefan Neaga, was a prominent composer, pianist, and conductor - and is considered to be one of the founding fathers of the Moldavian professional musical culture.

Her father George Neaga, who had a profound influence on her musical growth, was a concert violinist, teacher and one of the most talented and well-known Moldavian composers.

Ms. Neaga began her early musical education and violin studies in her native Moldova, at the special Music School for Gifted and Talented Students in Kishinev and continued in Russia, at the Gorky State Conservatory, where she earned her Master's and Doctor's degrees in Violin Performance and Musical Theory. Ms. Neaga has taken part in prestigious international music festivals in Romania and France, and is a prizewinner in the All-Moldavian Competition and a finalist in All-Russia Violin Competition in Kazan, USSR.

She has performed as a violin soloist in such notable locations as the Organ Hall and Philharmonic Hall in Kishinev, the Music Academy and Ateneum Hall in Bucharest and the Gorky State Conservatory.

She has made numerous international tours with Kishinev Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra to Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland and Romania.

Ms. Neaga has also had a prominent teaching career since 1988, in Moldavian State Conservatory, and Special Music Schools for Gifted and Talented Students (Both Moldavian and Russian).

In the year 2000 Ms. Neaga received Diploma for Special Merits by Students' Education in Science, Culture and Art Field from the President of Moldova. One of her students became a Prizewinner in Romania's most prestigious International Competitions - "G. Georgescu", "G. Enescu", and "Jeuinesses Musicales."

Ms. Neaga currently the Concertmaster of Allen Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra.

Lily Neaga was born on March 15th 1924 in Galati, Romania into a musical family. Her father was a violinist and her mother was a pianist.

Lily started to play violin from an early age under her father's instruction. She was a prodigy violinist and a sensation at an early age.

Lily continued her education at the famous Bucharest Conservatory and later in the Moscow Conservatory.

For many years she was a soloist performer with a multitude of Symphony Orchestras in Moldova.

In 1997 Mrs. Neaga established her residency in Dallas, Texas and on July 22nd 2016 she passed away peacefully at the Belmont assisted living home in Allen, TX.

She is survived by her daughters: Angela Neaga Khayt of Arlington and Lucia Neaga of Allen, as well as her grandson Dmitriy of Allen; her sons-in-law Yury Khayt and Alexander Shikhalev.
